Sponsorship plays a critical role in the success of the Upstate Stand Down. In-kind donations of goods and services help meet needs within tight budgets. Helping to cover costs of the event to ensure maximum goods, benefits and services go to our honored participants.
The Upstate Stand Down is led by Operation Restoration CDC, which is located in Spartanburg, SC, along with a Steering Committee representative of the Upstate. Operation Restoration is a faith-based 501c(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to educate and assist low-income families in the Upstate of South Carolina to work through their socio-economic circumstances, especially those related to education and home ownership, with the goal of developing self-sustaining, community-building lifestyles.
Operation Restoration also operates Welcome Home, a transitional home for displaced veterans living in Spartanburg County. Welcome Home provides shelter and case management for male veterans. Through an “arms around” approach, the hope is to transition veterans to non-supported housing, restoration with family and renewed self-esteem.
Operation Restoration is a United Way Partner Agency, a HUD-certified housing counseling agency, and is recognized by the S.C. Department of Commerce as a certified community development corporation.
